Chestnut Ridge Couple

#BESTDAYEVER. Everything I dreamed of when thinking about a wedding came true on this day. Our venue, the decor, our vendors and even a rainbow! The style we spent countless hours working toward and the smallest details we had thought over spawned into the most magical day of our lives. Our mountain wedding was the perfect way to begin our forever.

Venue

My Hubby and I are mountain people at heart. I grew up outside of the Blue Ridge and he spent time working in the Smokies during college. We knew that our perfect venue would be one with vistas of God’s beautiful backdrop. I also added the caveat that the venue had to have some glam. After being disappointed by numerous sites, we stumbled upon Chestnut Ridge in Canton, NC. My Husband and I met the Gregg’s at a bridal show in Charlotte. At that time, they only had renderings to show us of their planned venue. Confident that The Gregg’s were going to bring to life exactly what I had imagined, We signed our contract with merely a slab poured. It was announced that we were to be the first wedding ever at Chestnut Ridge! I can’t lie and say there was not some anxiety having not seen a finished product and being the first wedding at a new venue, but it was one of the best decisions we made. Chestnut Ridge is on a scale of its own. They have thought out every detail to make your day perfect. Oh, and you cannot beat the views!

Style and Vibe

My vision was to have a wedding that was romantic and timeless, one I could look back on and still love the style we created. I focused on lots of greenery, florals and gold tones. My family and I scoured every Goodwill in the Southeast collecting tons of missed match candlesticks and containers to adorn the tables. My Husband and I spent hours sewing and constructing the little details I wished-for. Herr Fresh Flowers created beautiful swags, table runners and centerpieces that were magazine worthy. On the big day, Candace brought everything together and styled our venue just as I had imagined.

Bridal Party

My bridesmaids wore dresses of their own style from designer Adrianna Papell. I loved how mixed materials and beautiful champagne tones came together. The groomsmen purchased dark blue suits from Men’s Warehouse and embellished with matching plaid patterned ties and white shirts chosen by the groom from Belk.

Bride and Groom

I wore a beautiful gown by Moonlight Couture purchased at Paige Elliot Bridal. My grandmothers picked it out. I first turned it down then after trying it on, I knew it was the one! I loved the lace layers and exposed back. I accessorized with bangles from grandparents and aunts, beautiful studs by J.Crew and the perfect heel by Vince Camuto. Bride’s Best Friend styled my hair and makeup for the most romantic look. My groom wore the same slim-fit Kenneth Cole suit as his groomsmen with matching tie. For a personal touch, I gifted him Clemson Tiger cuff-links (that school has a big piece of his heart).

Mingle Events

Hiring Mingle Events was one of the best decisions we made during our planning process. My husband gave me grief about having a planner but as we were walking away from our wedding he told me it was one of the best decisions we had made! Candace took the vision we had for that day and made it a reality. She was the perfect mixture of southern hospitability and down to business. Everyone knew their place, our ceremony and reception ran smoothly, and there was order with every step. On wedding day my Husband and I literally showed up and didn’t have to think of anything but soaking-in the day and having as much fun as possible. Our day was nothing short of perfect and we thank Candace for executing it so flawlessly!
